The missing 95 percent of the universe called Dark Energy
I’d like to speak to the manager of physics because this universe is a total bait-and-switch. We’re squatting in a tiny 5% corner of reality, while the rest is 'Dark Energy'—an invisible force constantly pushing the walls out.
It’s like a hotel room that grows larger every time you blink. This stuff acts like cosmic 'anti-gravity,' stretching space so fast that galaxies are sprinting away from us.
Eventually, we’ll be stuck in a lonely, dark void. The lack of stability here is a total safety hazard.
It’s a total logistics nightmare. Space stretches by about 70 kilometers every second for every large unit of distance. It’s like a taxi meter that ticks faster the further you travel.
Eventually, galaxies will move away faster than the speed of light. Imagine your neighbor’s house just vanishing because the sidewalk grew too fast. No goodbye, just a permanent 'out of office' status.
They’ll slip over the cosmic horizon, leaving us in a total blackout. No stars, no galaxies, just a very lonely, broken GPS.
Talk about a double standard. The 'speed limit' only applies to the poor souls trapped inside the universe, like us. It’s the ultimate fine print in the physics manual.
Nothing can travel through space faster than light, but space itself isn't an object. It’s the fabric of the room, and that fabric can stretch as fast as it wants. There’s no cosmic highway patrol to pull over a vacuum for reckless expansion.
It’s like being told you can’t run faster than ten miles per hour, while the treadmill you’re on decides to crank it up to warp speed. Totally unfair and extremely bad for my morning commute.
Thankfully, the universe has some local zoning laws. On a small scale—like your body, the Earth, or even our galaxy—gravity and molecular bonds are much stronger than this stretching force. It’s like having super-strong adhesive on your shoes while the floor tries to slide away.
Dark energy only wins the tug-of-war in the massive, empty gaps between galaxy clusters. So, while the neighborhoods are drifting apart at insane speeds, your actual house stays intact. You aren't being shredded; you're just being socially distanced from the rest of the cosmos.
Don't get too comfortable in your 'intact' house. There’s a terrifying theory called the 'Big Rip' where dark energy gets even more aggressive over time, like a landlord who keeps cranking up the pressure until the pipes literally burst.
If this happens, the stretching force will eventually overpower gravity, then magnetism, and finally the very atoms holding you together. It’s the ultimate eviction notice where the universe decides to shred the entire building, furniture and all.
You’d end up as subatomic confetti in a void with zero amenities. It’s a total safety violation, and frankly, I’d like a refund on my existence.
