I’d like to speak to the manager of the Laniakea Supercluster. Our own galaxy is a total architectural disaster. The Milky Way’s disk is packed with so much soot and gas that it creates a massive blind spot called the Zone of Avoidance.

It’s like booking a room with a "view" only to find a greasy curtain blocking the window. This cosmic smog hides nearly a fifth of the sky from our telescopes.

We’re being pulled toward a mysterious "Great Attractor," but we can’t see the culprit because our home galaxy is photobombing the shot. Zero stars.

Wait, if it's invisible, how do we even know it's pulling us?

Exactly. It’s like being on a cruise ship where everyone is sliding toward the railing, but the fog is too thick to see the iceberg. We can’t see the "magnet" itself, but we can track how every neighboring galaxy is sprinting toward that spot at over a million miles per hour.

It’s a massive pile-up of gravity, the mass of tens of thousands of Milky Ways. It’s likely the Norma Cluster, a giant city of galaxies that had the audacity to park right behind our own galaxy’s thickest clouds of soot. Talk about a total lack of transparency. One star.

Will we actually smash into that giant cluster at the end of this?

Don't pack your bags for a collision just yet. Even though we’re hurtling toward this 'Great Attractor' at breakneck speeds, we’ll likely never arrive. It’s the ultimate cosmic bait-and-switch.

The universe is expanding with an aggressive lack of consideration for our itinerary. Dark energy is stretching the space between us and the Norma Cluster faster than gravity can pull us together.

We’re basically on a high-speed treadmill that’s accelerating in the wrong direction. We’ll spend eternity falling toward a destination that keeps getting further away. Zero stars for the confusing GPS.

So what is this 'dark energy' that keeps sabotaging our arrival?

Dark energy is the ultimate hidden fee of the cosmos. It isn't a fuel you can pump; it’s a built-in property of space that absolutely hates neighbors.

Think of it as the universe’s 'anti-gravity.' While gravity tries to pull things together, dark energy acts like a landlord constantly adding more hallway between rooms while you’re trying to walk to the kitchen.

It makes up 70% of the universe but remains invisible. It just relentlessly accelerates the expansion, ensuring we stay in permanent cosmic isolation. Two stars for the lack of an emergency brake.

How can 70% of the universe be invisible? That’s some seriously lazy lighting.

It’s a total design flaw. Dark energy doesn't reflect, emit, or absorb light. It’s like trying to find a glass door in a dark room—you only know it’s there when you hit the fact that the room is getting bigger.

Our telescopes are built to see 'stuff' like stars and gas, which is barely 5% of the cosmic inventory. The rest is this transparent, ghostly pressure that refuses to show up on camera.

It’s the universe’s way of ghosting us while still charging for the extra square footage. Zero stars for the lack of visibility.
