The plant packs them with oxalic acid—nasty stuff that feels like swallowing a bag of needles for any pest looking for a snack. It’s a tactical move to protect its solar panels.

By dumping the poison in the leaves, it keeps the main machinery safe. It’s like wiring your greenhouse with a silent alarm that actually bites back.

Wait, how does the plant keep that 'bag of needles' from popping its own cells?

It’s a bit like keeping a grumpy badger in a very sturdy crate. The plant doesn't just let the acid roam free; it locks it away in tiny, specialized storage bubbles called vacuoles.

Think of these like the heavy-duty plastic bins in my shed. As long as the lid stays on, the rest of the cell—the 'machinery'—stays dry and safe.
