Imagine pointing a camera at a tiny, pitch-black patch of sky—about the size of a grain of sand—and leaving the shutter open for eleven days. Most people would call that a waste of film, but NASA found the ultimate high-density housing project.

That "empty" void actually contains ten thousand galaxies, each packed with billions of stars. It’s like finding a massive, glittering skyscraper where you thought there was just a speck of dust.

We’re basically living in a cramped studio apartment while the rest of the universe has infinite, unoccupied square footage. We just didn't have the long-exposure lens to see the neighbors until now.

While we’re staring at their childhood photos, the actual galaxies have grown up and likely merged with neighbors to form massive conglomerates. They’re still out there, just much further away and shifted into a different 'zip code'.

It’s the ultimate bait-and-switch. By the time you travel to the address on the brochure, the property has been relocated by the expansion of space itself.

Does this expansion mean our own neighborhood is getting stretched out too?
